Join us at Marywood Prairie for the first public BioBlitz! During this free, family-friendly event, you’ll tap into wonder and awe as you explore the many species living in and visiting the prairie. In addition to documenting plants, we’d like to see the effects of this growing habitat on invertebrates, birds, and fungi. Participants will log observations using the iNaturalist app and join the Marywood Prairie July 2025 BioBlitz Project (link coming soon).

If you’d like to know more about what a BioBlitz is, check out this website. For this event at Marywood, choose to participate as a Data Collector, a Field Assistant, or a Technical Assistant:

• Data Collector - Notice species in the prairie (invertebrates, birds, plants, fungi, etc.), take pictures, upload pictures into iNaturalist
• Field Assistant* - Assist Data Collectors in accurately identifying the species they're uploading. Knowledge of invertebrates, birds, plants, OR fungi is important.
• Technical Assistant* - Assist Data Collectors with technical issues using the iNaturalist app, joining the project, etc.
