Join us in honoring Sassafras. During the process of a necessary tree removal, participants will be in ceremony, harvest, and process Sassafras root to take home. We'll make root beer together and enjoy root beer floats. Wintergreen is an integral part of the recipe as well, so we'll harvest wintergreen to experience how to make this herbal extract. We will have tools and gloves on hand but you might like to bring your own items:

• Gloves
• Hand pruners
• Loppers, medium and/large
• Soil knife or trowel
• Shovel
• Bucket or bag to take roots home
